Abstract
Postharvest loss is a major challenge in the agricultural sector, particularly for highly perishable horticultural commodities. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of implementing Artificial Intelligence (AI) in cold chain logistics and smart warehousing systems to reduce such losses. The research method applied is a literature review, analyzing six selected scientific articles from the period 2020–2025 that are relevant to the research topic. The findings reveal that AI technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), and machine learning algorithms significantly enhance real-time monitoring of temperature and humidity, predict product shelf life, and optimize stock rotation and distribution systems. The application of AI has proven to improve accuracy, reduce logistic inefficiencies, and establish a more adaptive and sustainable distribution system. These findings highlight the importance of integrating digital technologies into agricultural logistics systems to support national food security and supply chain efficiency.
