Abstract

This study aims to analyze the awareness level of students in the Food Technology Study Program at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia regarding the quality and safety of national food. A descriptive quantitative approach was used through a Likert scale questionnaire (1– 5), assessing three main dimensions: knowledge, attitude, and behavior. The results revealed that students demonstrated a high level of awareness in understanding concepts and regulations related to food quality and safety, with average scores above 4.2. However, trust in food regulatory institutions such as BPOM remained moderate, indicating a gap between theoretical understanding and practical implementation. A collaborative effort between educational institutions, government, and students is needed to enhance food literacy and ensure more transparent supervision in order to guarantee national food safety sustainably.
