Abstract
Air pollution in South Tangerang has reached levels that significantly impact public health. This study aims to assess the perception of South Tangerang residents towards air pollution and its impact on respiratory health. Using qualitative descriptive methods, data were collected through health documents, media reports, online forums, and social media, reflecting how South Tangerang residents perceive and respond to the air conditions around them. The results show that South Tangerang residents’ perceptions of air pollution are strongly influenced by three main factors. Symptoms such as coughing, shortness of breath, and asthma attacks are frequently reported. This study emphasizes the importance of strengthening public health communication, improving air quality monitoring, and the role of government policies in reducing the impact of pollution.
