Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis persepsi mahasiswi Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia mengenai aurat dan preferensi hijab. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif deskriptif dengan data dari 60 responden yang dipilih melalui purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner Google Form dan dianalisis secara deskriptif untuk melihat pola pemahaman dan praktik berpakaian berdasarkan aspek religiusitas, sosial, dan budaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas responden memahami aurat sebagai bagian tubuh yang harus ditutupi sesuai syariat Islam, dengan pemahaman yang dipengaruhi oleh pendidikan agama dalam keluarga dan lingkungan akademik. Preferensi hijab bervariasi, dipengaruhi oleh kenyamanan, tren mode, dan tekanan sosial. Gaya hijab modern, seperti pashmina dan hijab segi empat, lebih disukai karena fleksibilitasnya, meskipun tidak semua model hijab yang populer sesuai dengan prinsip syar’i. Media sosial, terutama Instagram dan TikTok, berperan dalam membentuk preferensi hijab, namun mahasiswi tetap bersikap kritis terhadap tren yang lebih mengutamakan estetika dibandingkan fungsi menutup aurat. Temuan ini menunjukkan adanya dinamika antara idealisme religius dan realitas sosial dalam praktik berpakaian mahasiswi Muslim. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan tentang bagaimana faktor agama, sosial, dan budaya memengaruhi pemahaman serta pilihan hijab mahasiswi. Kesimpulan ini dapat menjadi dasar kajian lebih lanjut mengenai identitas Muslimah di lingkungan akademik dan dampak tren mode terhadap praktik berbusana mereka.


This study aims to analyze the perceptions of female students of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia regarding the concept of aurat and preferences in wearing the hijab. The approach used is quantitative descriptive, with a data collection method through a Google Form-based questionnaire. A total of 60 female students became respondents in this study, who were selected using a purposive sampling technique to ensure suitability with the research objectives. The data collected were analyzed descriptively to describe tendencies and patterns in understanding and dressing practices based on religious, social, and cultural aspects. The results of the study showed that the majority of respondents understood aurat as a part of the body that must be covered according to Islamic law, with the main factors influencing this understanding coming from religious education in the family and academic environment. However, preferences in wearing the hijab vary, influenced by aspects of comfort, fashion trends, and social pressure. Modern hijab styles, such as pashmina and square hijab, are more widely chosen because of their flexibility in various situations. However, there is an awareness among female students that not all popular hijab models today are in accordance with Islamic principles. Social media plays a significant role in shaping fashion preferences, with platforms such as Instagram and TikTok being the primary source of inspiration in choosing hijab styles. However, respondents showed a critical attitude towards the developing hijab trends, especially those that emphasize aesthetics rather than their function in covering the body. These results indicate a dynamic between religious idealism and social reality in the dress practices of Muslim female students. Thus, this study provides insight into how religious, social, and cultural factors contribute to female students’ understanding and choice of hijab. These conclusions can form the basis for further studies on Muslim women’s identities in academic settings and the impact of fashion trends on their dressing practices.
