PENAFSIRAN KONTEMPORER AYAT-AYAT TOLERANSI DALAM AL-QUR’AN: STUDI KOMPARATIF PEMIKIRAN TOKOH TAFSIR MODERN

Abstract

This research examines contemporary interpretations of Qur'anic verses related to tolerance. Amidst the complexity of diversity issues and interfaith conflicts, a correct understanding of tolerance in Islam is crucial. This article will analyze how modern mufasirs, such as Quraish Shihab and Nasr Hamid Abu Zayd, interpret key verses that address interfaith relations, freedom of belief, and the brotherhood of humanity. Using the comparative study method and content analysis, this research aims to identify the similarities and differences in their approaches, as well as the implications of these interpretations for the practice of tolerance in contemporary society. The results of the study are expected to contribute to the strengthening of the narrative of moderate and inclusive Islam.

Abstrak

Penelitian ini mengkaji penafsiran kontemporer terhadap ayat-ayat Al-Qur'an yang berkaitan dengan toleransi. Di tengah kompleksitas isu keberagaman dan konflik antaragama, pemahaman yang benar tentang toleransi dalam Islam menjadi krusial. Artikel ini akan menganalisis bagaimana mufasir modern, seperti Quraish Shihab dan Nasr Hamid Abu Zayd, menafsirkan ayat-ayat kunci yang membahas hubungan antarumat beragama, kebebasan berkeyakinan, dan persaudaraan kemanusiaan. Dengan menggunakan metode studi komparatif dan analisis isi, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi persamaan dan perbedaan dalam pendekatan mereka, serta implikasi penafsiran tersebut terhadap praktik toleransi di masyarakat kontemporer. Hasil penelitian diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi pada penguatan narasi Islam moderat dan inklusif.
