Abstract
This study aims to analyze the relationship between e-wallet usage and spending patterns among university students using simple linear regression method. The research employed a quantitative descriptive approach with data collected through questionnaires distributed to 30 respondents from various universities. The questionnaire consisted of 15 questions using a 5-point Likert scale. Data analysis included validity, reliability, normality, and regression tests. The results showed a strong positive correlation (r = 0.710, p < 0.001) between e-wallet usage and student spending patterns. The regression model Y = 2.873 + 0.706X indicates that each unit increase in e-wallet understanding and usage contributes to a 0.706 unit increase in spending patterns. The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.432) reveals that e-wallet usage explains 43.2% of the variation in student spending patterns. This study demonstrates that e-wallet adoption significantly influences student consumption behavior, supporting the cashless effect theory where digital payment methods tend to increase spending compared to cash transactions.
