ANALISIS KREATIVITAS SASTRA DALAM CERPEN “LUKISAN KASIH SAYANG” KARYA WIDYA SUWARNA: KAJIAN STRUKTURALISME

Abstract

This study aims to analyze literary creativity manifested in the short 
story "Painting of Love" by Widya Suwarna through a 
structuralism approach. The study of structuralism will focus on the 
intrinsic elements of the short story and the relationship between 
these elements in building the overall meaning. The short story 
Painting of Love by Widya Suwarna describes the emotional 
relationship between a famous painter, Mr. Saiful, and a loyal 
servant. Through a touching narrative, this story displays the 
dynamics of love across ages and social statuses that are rarely 
discussed in depth in literary works. This study aims to examine the 
values of humanity and symbolism contained in the characterization 
of the two main characters. The method used is a structural approach 
with a focus on the characters and characterization, setting, and 
symbols in the story. The results of the analysis show that love, 
sacrifice, and loyalty are the core of the narrative, reflected through 
simple but meaningful interactions between Mr. Saiful and the 
servant. This short story shows how art (painting) becomes an 
expressive medium to convey love and appreciation for others.
