Abstract

The 2024 General Election presents a major challenge for Indonesia's democracy, particularly due to the rise of identity politics that has the potential to divide society. Identity politics often triggers conflict and tension between groups. Therefore, it is important for society to increase awareness of the need to reject divisive identity politics and to uphold tolerance and social harmony. In this context, the Forum for Religious Harmony (FKUB) plays a crucial role as a platform for fostering interfaith relations, especially in South Jakarta. This study uses a qualitative method to examine FKUB's role in addressing identity politics during the 2024 election. The findings reveal that FKUB has effectively helped prevent conflicts through open dialogues between groups, assistance in the establishment of houses of worship, and the creation of election posts that serve as information and mediation centers for the community. FKUB has also initiated the 'Kampung Kerukunan' (Harmony Village) program to strengthen social integration. Moving forward, FKUB's role needs to be enhanced by providing training for its members, strengthening dialogue programs, and conducting regular evaluations to ensure the effectiveness of initiatives such as the Harmony Village.
