Abstract

Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) learning plays an important role in shaping students' physical, mental, and social abilities. However, students' learning motivation for floor gymnastics material, especially forward rolls, is still low due to less varied learning methods. This study aims to determine the effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model on student learning outcomes in forward roll material. This study uses a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design of the pretest-posttest control group design type. The population in this study were all 234 students of class VII UPT SMPN 24 Gresik. The research sample consisted of 68 students who were randomly selected and divided into two groups: experimental and control. The instruments used were forward roll knowledge and skill tests. Data analysis techniques include normality tests, homogeneity tests, t tests (paired and independent), and percentage increases. The results showed a significant increase in the experimental group. The average knowledge score increased from 72.06 to 87.94, and skills from 48.24 to 81.47. The t-test results showed a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), both in the Paired Sample T-Test and Independent Sample T-Test. This proves that the PjBL model is more effective than conventional learning in improving student learning outcomes in the forward roll material.
