Abstract

Plastic waste has become an urgent environmental issue, particularly in the daily lives of elementary school students. This study aims to provide education to students about the importance of minimizing plastic waste through the use of tumblers as an alternative to single-use plastic bottles. The method used in this research is direct socialization activities included explanations regarding the definition of plastic waste, negative impacts of plastic waste on the environment, and practical ways to reduce plastic use by bringing tumblers from home. Data were collected through observations during socialization activities and documentation of student responses. The results showed that after receiving socialization, students had a better understanding of the dangers of plastic waste to the environment and were enthusiastic about adopting the habit of bringing their own tumblers to school. This activity successfully increased student awareness of the importance of environmentally friendly behavior, particularly in reducing the use of single-use plastic bottles. The implementation of tumbler use in student’s daily activities ca be an effective initial step in building environmental care character from an early age and contributing to sustainable environmental conservation efforts.
