Abstract
Stroke is one of the non-communicable diseases that is a leading cause of death and disability in Indonesia. The high incidence of stroke in the community is greatly influenced by the lack of knowledge about risk factors and preventive efforts. This study aims to improve the knowledge of the people in Tambak Rejo Village regarding stroke prevention through health education interventions. The research method used was a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest approach without a control group, involving 10 adult respondents. The intervention was carried out through interactive counseling, distribution of leaflets, and light exercise practice. The results of the study showed a significant increase in respondents’ knowledge scores after the intervention, from an average in the poor category to good. In addition, general health examinations identified risk factors such as hypertension, high blood sugar levels, and obesity in some respondents.
