Abstract
Financial literacy is an essential skill that every individual must possess to avoid financial problems in the future. In today's digital era, the ease of access to internet technology provides significant opportunities for accessing various financial products and services. However, behind this convenience lies a new challenge, as many Indonesian people struggle to distinguish between legitimate and illegal financial services. The low level of financial literacy is one of the main factors causing many individuals to fall victim to illegal or fraudulent investments.
This phenomenon is increasingly concerning, as numerous people are deceived by promises of high and quick profits without fully understanding the risks involved. They are tempted by the lure of large returns in a short period, when in reality, such investments often end in significant losses. Many victims lack sufficient knowledge to assess whether the investments they join are registered and supervised by authorized institutions, such as the Financial Services Authority (OJK). As a result, they become easy targets for fraudulent investment schemes that continue to grow alongside rapid technological advancements.
To address this issue, the author considers it important to conduct community service activities, particularly among students of SMKN 1 Ciruas. This initiative aims to support the government’s efforts in reducing the number of victims of fraudulent investments and to provide a better understanding of financial literacy. Through this activity, it is expected that students will comprehend the importance of wise financial management, recognize various safe and registered financial products, and be able to differentiate between legal and illegal investments. With adequate knowledge, they can avoid harmful financial risks and better prepare for a secure financial future.
