Abstract

This study examines the mediating role of destination image in the relationship between electronic word of mouth (e-WOM) and revisit intention among tourists visiting Dodola Island, Morotai Island Regency. Employing a quantitative approach with Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square analysis of 236 domestic tourist respondents, the research confirms significant positive effects of e-WOM on revisit intention (β=0.131; p<0.05) and destination image (β=0.467; p<0.001). Destination image demonstrates dominant influence on revisit intention (β=0.732; p<0.001) and functions as partial mediator with significant indirect coefficient (β=0.342; p<0.001). Findings indicate dual mechanism of e-WOM influence on repeat visitation intention through direct and indirect pathways via destination image formation. Managerial implications encompass the importance of optimizing digital communication strategies and enhancing accessibility infrastructure for sustainable tourism development.
