PENCIPTAAN DESAIN MOTIF BATIK KHAS GEDOG TUBAN DENGAN SUMBER IDE MASJID ASCHABUL KAHFI PERUT BUMI AL MAGHRIBI

ABSTRACT

This research is an art research that describes the design of Gedog Tuban's typical batik motif with inspiration from the Aschabul Kahfi Mosque of Bumi Bumi Al Morocco. The objectives of this study are: (1) Describe the process of creating the design of Gedog batik motifs with the source of the mosque idea, and (2) Describe the finished result of Gedog batik based on the source of the idea. The method used is a method of creating works according to Hendriyana's theory (2021) which includes four stages: pre-design, design, realization, and presentation or dissemination. The process starts from the exploration of ideas, techniques, and materials, followed by the design of alternative designs, and then the selection of three designs to be realized. The realization stage is carried out through the creation of 180 × 35 cm size patterns, manual embellishment, gradual coloring, wall techniques, shoving, and drying. The final product in the form of batik scarves is exhibited in the "Exhibition of Written Batik Design Works" and promoted through the Tubanaya brand.

ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian seni yang mendeskripsikan desain motif batik khas Gedog Tuban dengan inspirasi dari Masjid Aschabul Kahfi Perut Bumi Al Maghribi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: (1) Mendeskripsikan proses penciptaan desain motif batik Gedog dengan sumber ide masjid tersebut, dan (2) Mendeskripsikan hasil jadi batik Gedog berdasarkan sumber ide tersebut. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode penciptaan karya menurut teori Hendriyana (2021) yang meliputi empat tahap: pra-perancangan, perancangan, perwujudan, dan penyajian atau diseminasi. Proses dimulai dari eksplorasi ide, teknik, dan material, dilanjutkan perancangan desain alternatif, lalu pemilihan tiga desain untuk diwujudkan. Tahap perwujudan dilakukan melalui pembuatan pola ukuran 180 × 35 cm, pencantingan manual, pewarnaan bertahap, teknik tembok, penglorotan, hingga penjemuran. Produk akhir berupa syal batik dipamerkan dalam “Pameran Karya Desain Batik Tulis” dan dipromosikan melalui brand Tubanaya.
