Abstract

This study aims to describe social work practices in helping to improve the learning abilities of orphanage children who have difficulty in mathematics. A case study was conducted on F Atogulo, a 12-year-old child who lives in the Ora Et Labora Orphanage, Medan. The approach used is individual social work practice (case work) using assessment tools such as genogram, ecomap, social life road, and roadmap. Interventions are carried out directly through personal tutoring, educational games, and emotional support. The results of the practice showed a significant increase in the understanding of multiplication material and client confidence. The strengths-based approach and the CIPP method were used to design and evaluate the program. This study concludes that systematic and planned social work practices can have a positive impact on the recovery of children's learning functions.
