Abstract
This study aims to determine the relationship between body shaming and self-confidence of female adolescents at SMP 284 Jakarta, through a quantitative correlational approach with a simple random sampling technique to obtain a sample involving 152 respondents. The research instrument consisted of a body shaming scale and a self-confidence scale. Data analysis used Pearson correlation and produced a correlation coefficient (r) value of 0.735 and a Sig value of 0.000, which shows a significant negative relationship between body shaming and self-confidence. The more often an adolescent experiences body shaming, the lower their self-esteem level. The R square value of 0.540 indicates that body shaming contributes 54% of the variation in self-confidence and the remaining 46% comes from variables outside the study.
