PENGARUH KEUANGAN TERHADAP GAYA HIDUP MAHASISWA

Abstract
This study was conducted to determine whether there were differences in lifestyle between students who received monthly and weekly pocket money. A total of 63 students participated, consisting of 29 monthly recipients and 34 weekly recipients. Data were collected through a Likert scale questionnaire covering five aspects of lifestyle: needs, self-care, healing, FOMO, and saving habits. The results of the analysis showed that out of 20 questions, 19 were valid with a good level of reliability (Cronbach's Alpha 0.792). The normality test showed a normal data distribution, and the Mann-Whitney test showed a significant difference between the two groups (sig. value 0.035). Students who received monthly money tended to have a higher lifestyle, with a higher average rating than the weekly group. They were better able to plan their finances for the long term, while weekly recipients were more focused on short-term needs. This finding emphasizes the importance of financial literacy so that students, regardless of their money receipt pattern, can manage their finances more wisely and avoid consumptive behavior.
