ANALISIS “DAMPAK BEBAN TUGAS BERKELANJUTAN TERHADAP TINGKAT STRESS MAHASISWA: PERAN AI DAN EFEKTIVITAS SISTEM KEBUT SEMALAM (SKS) SEBAGAI STRATEGI KOPING”

Abstract
This study aims to examine the effects of sustained academic workload on students’ stress levels by exploring two primary coping strategies: the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technology and the practice of last-minute studying, commonly known as the “cramming” method (SKS). The central issue addressed in this research is the increasing academic pressure university students face and how AI and SKS influence their perceptions and responses to stress. This quantitative correlational study involved 20 student participants from various universities across Indonesia. Data were collected using a 5-point Likert scale questionnaire consisting of 15 items that measure cognitive, affective, and conative dimensions related to academic stress. The analysis indicated that all questionnaire items met the criteria for validity and reliability, with a Cronbach’s Alpha value of 0.875. The Friedman test was employed to assess differences in students’ perceptions across their psychological dimensions. The results revealed a significant difference, indicating that cognitive, affective, and conative aspects contribute unevenly to stress levels. Furthermore, the findings suggest that the use of AI tends to be adaptive in alleviating academic pressure, while SKS is shown to be ineffective and maladaptive as a long-term coping strategy, correlating instead with higher stress levels. This study contributes to the development of academic policies that are more responsive to students’ workloads and promote the healthy use of technology in academic life.
