STANDARISASI HALAL SEBAGAI KEUNGGULAN KOMPETITIF INDUSTRI HALAL GLOBAL
Main Article Content
Abstract
Halal standardization is a key competitive advantage in the global halal industry, going beyond mere religious obligations. The concept of halal, meaning “permissible” in Arabic, encompasses products and behaviors, affecting the lives and worship of Muslims. Halal certification is an essential process to ensure product compliance with sharia standards, regulated by BPJPH in Indonesia in accordance with the MUI fatwa. Indonesia, with the largest Muslim population, has great potential as a world halal industry center. However, there are challenges such as the lack of MSME certification, infrastructure, and competent human resources. To achieve a competitive advantage, strategies needed include strengthening international cooperation, increasing consumer awareness, investing in technology, supporting MSMEs, and developing a global halal competence center.
