Abstract

This study explores the role of Bolu Kemojo and Ketan Talam Durian as representations of local wisdom in Riau Malay culture and their potential to support the creative economy through small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Using a descriptive qualitative method based on literature review, the research highlights the strong cultural significance of these traditional foods and their contributions to cultural preservation and community economic empowerment. Innovations such as durian seed-based edible coatings and digital-based promotional strategies enhance their competitiveness in modern markets. Cross-sector synergy is essential to sustain and further develop these traditional culinary products.
