Abstract
This study aims to analyze the validity and reliability of items on the Pet Attachment scale. The closeness between humans and pets, or Pet Attachment, is an emotional bond formed when both living beings need and give attention to each other. This study uses a quantitative method focused on validity and reliability tests on data from 142 pet owners (70 male and 72 female) in the North Tambun District, Bekasi Regency, who were selected through a purposive sampling technique. The instrument used is the Indonesian version of the Lexington Attachment to Pets Scale (LAPS). The reliability test results show a Cronbach's Alpha score of 0.973, which indicates that this scale is very reliable. The validity analysis also shows that all items have a good correlation. It is concluded that the items on the Pet Attachment (LAPS) scale used in this study have a very good level of validity and reliability for measuring pet attachment in the context of the studied population.
