Abstract

The CPI is the main indicator used to measure changes in the prices of goods and services consumed by households, and directly reflects the inflation rate of a region. Thus, this study was conducted with the aim of analyzing how much the Consumer Price Index (CPI) influences inflation. This study uses a quantitative approach with secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), covering 41 cities on the island of Sumatra. The analysis method used is simple linear regression to measure the extent to which the CPI influences the inflation rate.
