Abstract

Al-Ghazali is one of the most important figures in the history of islamic thought whose views are widely referred to in the development of the concept of islamic education. It was to examine Al-Ghazali's views on education, his educational concepts, and the influence his thinking had on islamic education. The research method used in this study is library research using a qualitative research approach. The results suggest that Al-Ghazali emphasized the importance of integration between learning and morality, the role of a teacher as a spiritual educator, and education as a means of sanctification of the soul. His thinking contributes greatly to islamic education systems, both classical and contemporary. In conclusion, Al-Ghazali's educational thinking can be an inspiration in designing a holistic and relevant islamic education in the modern era.
