Abstract

This study aims to explore in depth the implementation of Ki Hadjar Dewantara’s Leadership Trilogy principles by teachers in shaping students’ character. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, focusing on a fourth-grade homeroom teacher at SD Negeri Jetis Bantul as the main subject, along with three students as supporting informants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The validity of the data was ensured through triangulation of sources, techniques, and time, as well as consistent implementation. The findings reveal that the teacher acts as a role model, motivator, learning facilitator, and personal mentor. Challenges encountered include limited time for guidance, low parental involvement, and the diversity of student characteristics. Character development evaluation is carried out through classroom observation, collaboration with other teachers and the counseling team, and ongoing communication with parents. These findings highlight the crucial role of multifunctional teachers in applying Ki Hadjar Dewantara’s leadership principles to strengthen students’ character.
