Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop a learning media in the form of "Pandori's Box" to stimulate children's cognitive abilities, especially in counting, in group B at Rahman Nuri Kindergarten. The problems encountered included low cognitive abilities of children, less interesting learning methods, and minimal use of interactive media, so that many children had difficulty recognizing numbers and performing simple mathematical operations. This study used a development method or commonly called Research and Development (R&D) with the Borg & Gall model with modifications into five processes: research and data collection, planning, initial product development, expert validation, and field trials. Validation was carried out by material and media experts, conducted by testing seven students in group B at Rahman Nuri Kindergarten. The results showed that the Pandori Box media was valid and feasible to use based on expert assessment (validity> 0.5). The trial produced an average feasibility value of 97.6%, indicating that children could easily understand and use this media. In addition, children showed increased motivation, enthusiasm, and arithmetic skills during the use of the media. The conclusion of this study is that the Pandora's Box media is effective in improving children's cognitive abilities, especially in counting, and is able to make learning more interactive and enjoyable.
