Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aims to determine the relationship between self-control and academic procrastination among 11th-grade students at SMA Negeri 2 Tenggarong in the 2024/2025 academic year. The research employed a quantitative correlational method using Pearson Product Moment for data analysis. The sample consisted of 85 students selected through simple random sampling, calculated using the Slovin formula. Data were collected using Likert-scale questionnaires measuring levels of self-control and academic procrastination. The results showed a significant negative correlation between self-control and academic procrastination, with a correlation coefficient of -0.970 and a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). This indicates that the higher a student's self-control, the lower their tendency to procrastinate academically, and vice versa. These findings highlight the importance of developing students’ self-control through counseling services as a strategy to reduce academic procrastination.
