Abstract
Musculoskeletal disorders or also called Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) are injuries or diseases of the musculoskeletal system due to repetitive exposure to various disasters and workplace conditions. Sewing is one type of work that is directly related to musculoskeletal complaints, because Sewing is done in a long and continuous sitting position. This study aims to determine the level of risk in clothing tailoring activities. This study uses a qualitative approach with the RULA method to evaluate ergonomic risks in tailors and the NBM questionnaire to identify subjective complaints after they complete their work, an assessment of three tailors showed variations in risk levels: one tailor was at low risk, one at medium risk, and one at high risk. The body parts that most often experience complaints include the right shoulder, back, waist, hips, elbows, right arm, and legs. RULA results showed two tailors with a score of 5 and one tailor with a score of 6. All three were at action level 5-6, indicating the need for immediate investigation and improvement of work posture to reduce the risk of musculoskeletal injuries. Therefore, improving posture while working is very important to prevent further injuries to the musculoskeletal system.
