Abstract
The formulation of the problem in this study is: (1) the various language environments at Ma'had Uluwwul Himmah Marendal. (2) Is there a relationship between the language environment and the listening skills of class X students of Ma'had Uluwwul Himmah Marendal? This study aims to: (1) Find out what the various language environments are at Ma'had Uluwwul Himmah Marendal. (2) Find out whether there is a relationship between the language environment and the listening skills of class X students of Ma'had Uluwwul Himmah Marendal. The research method used is a correlational quantitative research method using statistical data with the Spearman Brown formula to find research results. From the research results it is known that: (1) And the types of language environments that exist at the institute, namely: visual environments, such as posters, written advertisements in Arabic, signboards, blackboards, and writings on school walls in the form of slogans or proverbs. And audio-visual environments such as lectures in Arabic, memorizing vocabulary, and conversations. (2) That there is no relationship between the language environment and the listening skills of class X students at Ma'had Uluwwul Himmah Marendal, Deli Tua, North Sumatra.
