Abstract
The problem formulation of this study is how are the difficulties in learning Arabic experienced by students of SMP-IT Ad-Durrah? And what efforts are made to overcome the difficulties in learning Arabic experienced by students at SMP-IT Ad-Durrah? This study is a qualitative study with a descriptive approach with a qualitative descriptive method. The results of this study are that the difficulties in learning Arabic experienced by students of SMP-IT Ad-Durrah are internal and external difficulties. Internal difficulties in learning Arabic are difficulties that arise from the linguistic aspect and are caused by within the students themselves such as students' intelligence, difficulties in mastering vocabulary, difficulties in writing in Arabic script, and low interest and focus of students in learning Arabic.Meanwhile, external difficulties are difficulties outside of language aspects, such as the surrounding environment, methods, learning media, and parental supervision of the student’s learning process. Efforts that can be made to overcome or reduce learning difficulties experienced by students at SMP-IT Ad-Durrah include Arabic language teachers having a good and varied approach, strategies, methods, and learning media for students to increase student interest and focus in learning Arabic. Educators must also be able to implement Arabic language games in class to alleviate boredom experienced by students.
