KAJIAN NETNOGRAFI PADA KOMUNITAS PENGGEMAR YOUTUBER ISHOWSPEED: INTERAKSI, BUDAYA, IDENTITAS DARING

Abstract

The background of this study is conducted based on the phenomenon of live streaming by IShowSpeed, a Youtube content creator, during his visit to Jakarta in September 2024, which attracted over one million live viewers on YouTube, making it one of the largest live streaming events of the year. His achievement illustrates how an influencer can create complex cross-cultural interactions through social media. These interactions reflect the dynamics of digital communication influenced by cultural norms and social identities, with the influence of latest content serving as a catalyst for discussion. The study aims to explore the process of social interaction within the fan community of IShowSpeed on his YouTube live streaming content. The research employs a qualitative approach using the concept of netnography. The data collection techniques of this research use several processes that involve collecting, organizing, and interpreting data obtained from observations, interviews, and various communication artifacts. The findings reveal that IShowSpeed's fans are capable of fostering a culture of interaction among fellow fans based on shared experiences, knowledge, and support expressed in the comments section of his live streaming content. These interactions contribute positively to the social, emotional, and creative development of all fans engaging with his content.

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi adanya fenomena live streaming YouTuber terkenal, IShowSpeed, saat kunjungannya ke Jakarta pada September 2024, yang berhasil menarik lebih dari satu juta penonton langsung di YouTube dan menjadi salah satu live streaming terbesar tahun itu. Keberhasilannya mencerminkan bagaimana seorang influencer dapat menciptakan interaksi lintas budaya yang kompleks melalui media sosial. Interaksi ini mencerminkan dinamika komunikasi digital yang dipengaruhi oleh norma budaya dan identitas sosial, dengan pengaruh konten terbaru sebagai pemicu diskusi. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui proses interaksi sosial komunitas penggemar Youtuber IShowSpeed pada konten live streaming youtubenya. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan kajian konsep netnografi. Sementara teknik pengambilan data menggunakan beberapa proses yang melibatkan pengumpulan, pengorganisasian, dan interpretasi data yang diperoleh dari observasi, wawancara, dan berbagai artefak komunikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa para penggemar IShowSpeed dapat menciptakan budaya interaksi antar penggemar berdasarkan pengalaman, pengetahuan, dan dukungan di dalam komentar konten live streaming Channel Youtube IShowSpeed yang dalam konten tersebut memberikan dampak positif dalam hal pengembangan sosial, emosional, dan kreatif bagi seluruh penggemar yang mengikuti kontennya.
