Politik Uang Pada Sistem Proporsional Terbuka: Studi Kasus Caleg PAN Sukardi pada Pemilu 2024 di Lampung Timur
Main Article Content
Abstract
This research aims to examine the impact of the open proportional system on the emergence of money politics with a focus on the case study of Sukardi, a legislative candidate from the National Mandate Party (PAN) in East Lampung. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive analytical approach. Data collection was conducted through content analysis of various reliable secondary sources, such as mass media news, election monitoring reports, and official documents from related institutions. The results showed that in a tight competition between candidates, even from the same party, the practice of money politics became a strategy to win votes. Sukardi utilizes social networks such as neighborhood associations, relatives, and family to distribute materials to voters as a form of reciprocity. This reflects the existence of a patron-client relationship where political support is given on the basis of material, not ideology.
