TINDAK TUTUR DALAM NOVEL OUT OF THE BLUE KARYA INDAH HANACO

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tindak tutur dalam dialog tokoh-tokoh dalam novel Out of The Blue karya Indah Hanaco dengan menggunakan pendekatan pragmatik. Teori yang digunakan adalah klasifikasi tindak tutur oleh Searle (1976) yang mencakup lima jenis, yaitu direktif, ekspresif, komisif, representatif, dan deklaratif. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik simak dan catat. Data diperoleh dari kutipan dialog tokoh yang terdapat dalam novel dan dianalisis berdasarkan konteks tuturan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa semua jenis tindak tutur ditemukan dalam novel ini, dengan dominasi pada tindak tutur direktif dan ekspresif. Tindak tutur direktif digunakan dalam bentuk ajakan, permintaan, dan nasihat, sedangkan ekspresif muncul dalam bentuk perasaan, kekaguman, dan permintaan maaf. Analisis ini menunjukkan bahwa bahasa dalam novel tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai penyampai pesan naratif, tetapi juga sebagai bentuk tindakan sosial yang mencerminkan relasi, emosi, dan dinamika psikologis tokoh-tokohnya.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the speech acts found in the character dialogues of the novel Out of The Blue by Indah Hanaco using a pragmatic approach. The theoretical framework applied is Searle’s (1976) classification of speech acts, which includes five types: directive, expressive, commissive, representative, and declarative. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with observation and note-taking techniques. The data were obtained from selected excerpts of character dialogue in the novel and analyzed based on their speech context. The findings reveal that all five types of speech acts are present, with a dominance of directive and expressive acts. Directives appear in the form of requests, suggestions, and advice, while expressives convey emotions, admiration, and apologies. This analysis indicates that language in the novel functions not only as a narrative tool but also as social action that reflects the relationships, emotions, and psychological dynamics of its characters.
