Abstract
This community service activity aims to introduce and preserve the traditional Riau Malay food, "Galopuong Ondam" or "Putri Mandi," to the younger generation, specifically the children at Mufariddun Orphanage in Pekanbaru. This initiative, part of a Citizenship course project at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Muhammadiyah Riau, involved hands-on workshops where students guided the children in preparing this traditional snack. The activity sought to foster cultural awareness, promote healthy eating habits through local ingredients, and develop students' communication, creativity, and social responsibility skills. The results showed high enthusiasm and active participation from the children, leading to a deeper appreciation for traditional cuisine and a strengthened bond between students and the orphanage community. This project exemplifies the application of academic knowledge in real-world settings, contributing positively to society and preserving cultural heritage.
