Abstract
Bolu kemojo is a traditional cake from Riau Province, Indonesia, recognized by its unique flower-shaped mold, green color, and fragrant aroma derived from pandan or suji leaves. More than just a dessert, bolu kemojo carries cultural and symbolic meanings for the Malay community in Riau. It is commonly served during traditional and religious ceremonies as a gesture of respect, unity, and gratitude. This article explores the historical background and philosophical significance of bolu kemojo, and its role in preserving local wisdom. Beyond its cultural value, bolu kemojo has become an economic asset for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Riau. Its preservation reflects the importance of maintaining cultural identity while empowering local economies through the promotion of regional culinary products.
