PSIKOEDUKASI BAHAYA SELF–DIAGNOSE DI TIKTOK
Main Article Content
Abstract
In today’s digital era, information about mental health is easily accessible through social media platforms, including TikTok. The rise of psychological content on TikTok—such as discussions about symptoms of mental disorders—has encouraged some users to SelfDiagnose without consulting professionals. This raises concerns as it may lead to misunderstanding and improper handling of psychological conditions. To address this phenomenon, a psychoeducation campaign titled “Beware of Self-Diagnosis on TikTok” was conducted with the aim of increasing public awareness and digital literacy so that individuals can be more critical of mental health information on social media. The psychoeducation was delivered through a digital poster shared on Instagram, containing brief information about the risks of self-diagnosis and the importance of seeking help from professionals. The post received 74 likes, and 31 individuals filled out the evaluation form provided. Survey results showed that the majority of respondents liked the poster, understood its content, and found the information beneficial. This suggests that simple psychoeducational tools like digital posters can be effective in delivering mental health education and preventing the spread of misinformation—especially in the context of social media use like TikTok.
