Main Article Content
Abstract
This study investigated the effectiveness of various learning methods for deaf children at SLB Melati, Medan. This qualitative research with a case study approach aims to identify the most effective methods in improving students' academic and social-emotional abilities. Data were collected through classroom observations, interviews with teachers and students, and analysis of learning documents. The results of the study indicate that an approach that integrates Total Physical Response (TPR), individual guidance, and interactive visual media has a significant positive impact on students' academic development and communication skills. The study recommends the development and optimization of these methods at SLB Melati, as well as ongoing training for teachers in implementing an inclusive learning approach. This study also highlights the importance of collaboration between teachers, parents, and therapists in supporting students' learning success, and is expected to contribute to the development of more effective curricula and learning practices for deaf children in Indonesia.
