Abstract
The research is aimed at education for children with special needs, specifically children with intellectual disabilities, requiring deep attention from the learning approach perspective. Children with intellectual disabilities have very different learning methods compared to children in general. Therefore, appropriate learning strategies must be based on an understanding of the characteristics of the child, the learning environment, and the role of the teacher in creating an inclusive and supportive atmosphere. This study aims to identify the learning strategies implemented at SLB ABC Melati and analyze their effectiveness based on observations and direct interviews with teaching teachers. The research was conducted using a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection techniques were carried out through direct observation in the classroom and in-depth interviews with the teacher of class 1 of junior high school for children with intellectual disabilities.
