MENGHADAPI TEKANAN AKADEMIK: SYSTEMATIC REVIEW STRATEGI COPING MAHASISWA PERGURUAN TINGGI

Abstract
This study is a systematic literature review aimed at analyzing the coping strategies used by university students in dealing with academic stress. By reviewing 20 scientific articles published between 2020 and 2025, the findings reveal that students tend to use two main types of coping strategies: problem-focused coping and emotion-focused coping. Problem-focused coping is commonly used in controllable situations, such as task planning, prioritization, and seeking instrumental support. In contrast, emotion-focused coping is more often employed when students face emotional stress or uncontrollable conditions, such as during the pandemic and under psychological pressure. The review also indicates that social support plays a vital role in enhancing the effectiveness of coping mechanisms. These findings highlight the importance of developing intervention programs and supportive campus systems to help students adapt more effectively to academic stress.
Penelitian ini merupakan systematic literature review yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi coping yang digunakan mahasiswa dalam menghadapi tekanan akademik. Melalui analisis terhadap 20 artikel ilmiah yang diterbitkan antara tahun 2020 hingga 2025, ditemukan bahwa mahasiswa cenderung menggunakan dua jenis strategi coping utama, yaitu problem-focused coping dan emotion-focused coping. Problem-focused coping digunakan dalam situasi yang dianggap dapat dikendalikan, seperti perencanaan tugas, penyusunan prioritas, dan pencarian bantuan. Sementara emotion-focused coping lebih sering digunakan saat mahasiswa menghadapi stres emosional atau situasi yang sulit dikendalikan, seperti masa pandemi dan tekanan psikologis. Hasil tinjauan juga menunjukkan bahwa dukungan sosial dari lingkungan sekitar sangat berperan dalam meningkatkan efektivitas coping. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya pengembangan program intervensi dan sistem dukungan kampus yang mendukung adaptasi stres mahasiswa secara menyeluruh.
