Abstract
Anemia is a global health problem that impacts productivity and quality of life, especially in adolescent girls and pregnant women. One of the prevention strategies used in Indonesia is the administration of Iron Tablets (IBT), but its effectiveness still varies depending on certain factors. Objective: This study aims to analyze the effectiveness and factors that influence the success of the use of Iron Tablets in preventing anemia based on a review of various studies in Indonesia. Method: This study is a literature review involving the analysis of 15 research journals with a dominant use of literature and observational studies conducted in various regions of Indonesia. Results: Factors related to the effectiveness of Iron Tablets include the level of compliance with consumption, diet, nutritional knowledge, and support from the environment and health programs. The results showed that compliance with routine iron tablet consumption can reduce the risk of anemia by up to 45%. Conclusion: Prevention of anemia with Iron Tablets in Indonesia is influenced by various factors, including aspects of compliance, nutritional education, social support, and health policies. Suggestion: Efforts are needed to improve education and socialization regarding the importance of iron tablet consumption, as well as optimization of distribution and monitoring of programs to increase their success in preventing anemia.
