Abstract
Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) remains high, partly due to low adherence of pregnant women to Antenatal Care (ANC). At Rantau Badauh Health Center, only 34.8% of the 325 pregnant women met the K6 ANC standard. The maternal class plays an essential role in improving knowledge and awareness about ANC compliance. Among the total, 198 women (61%) participated in maternal classes (Batola Health Office, 2024).To determine the relationship between participation in maternal classes and compliance with ANC visits at Rantau Badauh Health Center. This study used a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. A total of 58 postpartum mothers were sampled. Data were collected from MCH books, maternal class attendance lists, and monthly maternal health reports. Data were analyzed using the Chi-square test. A total of 49 respondents (84.5%) attended the maternal class ≥4 times, and 52 (89.7%) complied with ANC standards. The Chi-square test showed a significant relationship between maternal class attendance and ANC compliance (p = 0.000). There is a significant relationship between participation in maternal classes and ANC compliance. Health workers should educate pregnant women early in pregnancy about ANC schedules, standards, and the importance of attending maternal classes starting from the first trimester.
