This study aims to analyze the influence of extrinsic and intrinsic motivation on the career interest of Early Childhood Education Teacher Education (PGPAUD) students in the field of early childhood education. The method used is quantitative correlational with a survey technique. A total sample of 86 PGPAUD students from the 2021 cohort was selected using stratified random sampling. The research instrument was a closed-ended Likert-scale questionnaire. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that both extrinsic and intrinsic motivations partially had a significant effect on students' career interests. Simultaneously, these two types of motivation also had a significant influence. These findings highlight the importance of both internal and external motivation in shaping students’ interest to pursue a career as early childhood educators. This research contributes theoretically to the study of career interest and student motivation, and practically to the development of higher education policy in the field of early childhood education.
