PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA POP UP BOOK PANCASILA PADA MATERIMENGENAL LAMBANG NEGARA GARUDA PANCASILA UNTUK SISWAKELAS III SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract
Penanaman nilai-nilai kebangsaan sejak dini merupakan langkah strategis dalam membentuk karakter siswa yang cinta tanah air. Salah satu materi penting dalam Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan di Sekolah Dasar adalah pengenalan lambang negara Garuda Pancasila. Namun, penyampaian materi ini seringkali masih bersifat konvensional, sehingga kurang menarik bagi siswa kelas III yang berada pada tahap perkembangan operasional konkret. Pengembangan media pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan karakteristik siswa menjadi solusi penting dalam meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran. Salah satu bentuk media yang dapat digunakan adalah pop up book, yaitu buku cerita bergambar yang menampilkan elemen visual tiga dimensi. Media ini dirancang agar mampu menarik perhatian siswa sekaligus membantu mereka memahami konsep melalui pengalaman visual dan taktil. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran pop up book bertema Pancasila yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran materi mengenal lambang negara Garuda Pancasila bagi siswa kelas III Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan model pengembangan ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Pada tahap analisis, dilakukan pengumpulan data kebutuhan guru dan siswa melalui wawancara dan observasi. Tahap desain menghasilkan rancangan awal pop up book yang memuat nilai-nilai sila Pancasila. Tahap pengembangan melibatkan pembuatan media berdasarkan desain awal, kemudian divalidasi oleh ahli materi dan ahli media. Revisi dilakukan berdasarkan masukan untuk menyempurnakan media. Tahap implementasi dilakukan di salah satu sekolah dasar negeri dengan melibatkan siswa kelas III sebagai subjek uji coba terbatas. Hasil uji coba menunjukkan bahwa siswa sangat antusias menggunakan media pop up book. Mereka lebih mudah mengingat simbol-simbol sila Pancasila dan maknanya. Guru juga menyatakan bahwa media ini mempermudah penyampaian materi dan meningkatkan partisipasi siswa dalam pembelajaran. Evaluasi terhadap media dilakukan berdasarkan penilaian kelayakan dari ahli dan respons siswa. Hasil penilaian menunjukkan bahwa media pop up book tergolong sangat layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Selain itu, media ini mampu meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa dan memperkuat pemahaman mereka terhadap makna lambang negara. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengembangan media pop up book Pancasila efektif dan layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran pada materi mengenal lambang negara Garuda Pancasila di kelas III Sekolah Dasar. Disarankan bagi guru untuk mengintegrasikan media serupa dalam pembelajaran tematik sebagai upaya menciptakan pembelajaran yang menarik, interaktif, dan bermakna bagi siswa.
Instilling national values from an early age is a strategic step in shaping students’ character and love for their country. One essential topic in Civic Education at the elementary level is introducing the national symbol, Garuda Pancasila. However, the delivery of this material is often still conventional, making it less engaging for third-grade students who are in the concrete operational stage of development. Developing learning media that suits the characteristics of young learners is crucial to improving instructional effectiveness. One suitable form of media is the pop-up book—a picture storybook that features three-dimensional visual elements. This medium is designed to capture students’ attention while supporting their conceptual understanding through visual and tactile experiences. This study aims to develop a Pancasila-themed pop-up book as a learning medium for teaching the topic of Garuda Pancasila to third-grade elementary students. The research follows a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which includes five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. In the analysis phase, data on student and teacher needs were collected through interviews and observations. The design phase produced an initial draft of the pop-up book that contained illustrations and explanations of each Pancasila principle. The development stage involved creating the media, followed by validation from content and media experts. Revisions were made based on expert feedback. The implementation phase was conducted in a public elementary school involving third-grade students in a limited trial. The results showed that students were highly enthusiastic about using the pop-up book. They were able to remember the symbols of each principle of Pancasila more easily and understand their meanings better. Teachers also stated that the media made it easier to deliver the material and increased student participation. The evaluation of the media was based on expert assessments and student responses. The results indicated that the pop-up book was highly suitable for use in teaching. In addition to enhancing student motivation, it also supported deeper understanding of the national symbol and the values it represents. In conclusion, the development of the Pancasila pop-up book is effective and feasible as a teaching medium for introducing the national symbol Garuda Pancasila to third-grade elementary students. It is recommended that teachers integrate similar interactive and engaging media into thematic learning to create meaningful, fun, and student-centered educational experiences.
