Abstract

White-collar crime or kejahatan kerah putih is a form of non-violent crime committed by individuals with high social status in professional environments, and is often carried out systematically for personal gain. This study aims to analyze the causes of white-collar crime from the perspective of criminal psychology. The method used is a literature review from various relevant scientific sources. The research results indicate that there are three main factors driving the occurrence of white-collar crime, namely individual factors (such as low self-control, moral justification, and psychopathy), social factors (permissive environments and social learning), and organizational factors (weak oversight systems and unhealthy organizational culture). From a criminal psychology perspective, the deviant behavior of white-collar crime perpetrators is influenced by the interaction between personality, social environment, and available opportunities. A deep understanding of these psychological dynamics is important for more effective prevention and law enforcement strategies.
