HUBUNGAN SELF IMPROVEMENT DENGAN SOCIAL COMPARISON PADA REMAJA PENGGUNA TIKTOK DI SMK X

Abstract
This study aims to determine the relationship between self-improvement and social comparison in adolescent TikTok users at SMK X. The study used a quantitative approach with a correlational method and involved 170 respondents. The instrument used consists of two scales, namely the self-improvement scale and the social comparison scale. The results of the analysis showed a significant negative relationship between self-improvement and social comparison (r = -0.717; p < 0.001). That is, the higher the self-improvement, the lower the tendency to do social comparison. This finding shows the importance of self-improvement as a protective factor against the negative impact of social media.
