Abstract
Low self-esteem is a negative assessment or feeling of oneself or one's abilities such as feeling unimportant, worthless, or helpless, which lasts for a long time continuously. One of the main factors of low self-esteem is self-concept disorders. One way to deal with patients with low self-esteem is by handicraft making beaded bracelets. Handicraft making beaded bracelets is one of the art therapies. This therapy aims to increase self-esteem, build self-confidence and improve social skills. The purpose of this application is to determine the effect of handicraft making bracelets on low self-esteem of schizophrenia patients at Tampan Mental Hospital, Pekanbaru. This application is Evidence Based Practice. This application was carried out in the Indragiri Room of Tampan Mental Hospital, Riau Province on April 19-25, 2025. The number of respondents was 1 client. The results of this application concluded that positive self-assessment increased, feelings of shame decreased, feelings of inability to do anything decreased, acceptance of positive self-assessment increased, interest in trying new things increased and walking showing the face increased. Body posture showing the face increased. This application recommends that art therapy with handicrafts making beaded bracelets can be one option in increasing self-esteem and self-confidence in patients with low self-esteem.
