PENERAPAN TERAPI BERMAIN PUZZLE UNTUK MENURUNKAN TINGKAT KECEMASAN PADA ANAK PRA SEKOLAHYANG MENGALAMI HOSPITALISASI

Abstract

Hospitalization can cause tension and anxiety. Children are more susceptible to the effects of hospitalization. Puzzle play therapy can be an effective way to reduce anxiety levels in preschool children who are hospitalized. Providing this therapy helps children divert attention from fear and anxiety, and increases feelings of pleasure and comfort while in the hospital. The method of application is a case study. The implementation time was carried out for 3 days on March 24-26,2025. Every day is done 1 time  puzzle play therapy with different puzzles. The implementation time for each exercise is 10-15 minutes. The place of implementation is at Arifin Achmad Hospital. The subjects used in this case study were 2 preschool children with mild and moderate anxiety levels. Data collection techniques are: questionnaire sheets with a Visual Analogue Scale for Anxiety (VAS- A) measurement tool to reduce anxiety levels in preschool children. The results of the 3-day implementation, namely the pretest and posttest values of children's anxiety levels in the application of puzzle playing relaxation therapy using VAS-A, on the first day there was a decrease in anxiety levels in An.F and An.A to 3, on the second day there was a decrease in anxiety levels in An.F and An.A to 2, and on the third day there was a decrease in anxiety levels in An.F and An.A to 0. Based on the results, it is concluded that providing puzzle playing therapy can reduce the level of anxiety in children who are hospitalized.
