PENERAPAN TERAPI PROGRESSIVE MUSCLE RELAXATION PADA LANSIA HIPERTENSI TERHADAP MASALAH KEPERAWATAN MANAJEMEN KESEHATAN KELUARGA TIDAK EFEKTIF DI RW 6 DESA SARI GALUH

Abstract

Elderly refers to someone who is above 60 years old. The elderly often experience hypertension because blood vessels become stiff and lose their elasticity as age increases. As a result, the heart has to work harder to pump blood, causing blood pressure to rise. The aim of the Final Scientific Work of Nurses is to provide an overview of the results of nursing practice with the Application of Progressive Muscle Relaxation Therapy in elderly patients with hypertension concerning ineffective family health management mursing problems in Rw 6 Sari Galuh village. The method used in the implementation of nursing interventions with Progressive Muscle Relaxation therapy for hypertension patients. Writing is scheduled from April 19-24, 2025. The advantages of Progressive Muscle Relaxation therapy include improving circulation, increasing the range of motion in joints, reducing pain, relaxing muscles, and providing comfort to patients. The implementation of Progressive Muscle Relaxation is carried out once a day for 3 days, lasting 6 minutes each time, with each leg being treated for 3 minutes. The results of this case study, after being conducted for 3 days, showed that the subject applying the Progressive Muscle Relaxation therapy demonstrated a significant average difference in the family's success with the recommended activities before and after the therapy, and there was a significant difference in pain intensity before and after the Progressive Muscle Relaxation therapy in the elderly with Hypertension
