Abstract

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a progressive condition that leads to a gradual decline in kidney function. CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis frequently experience fatigue, which negatively impacts daily activities and quality of life. One effective nursing intervention to reduce fatigue is Range of Motion (ROM) exercise. To determine the effectiveness of ROM exercise in reducing fatifue levels among hemodialysis patients. This case study used an Evidence Bases Practice (EBP) approach involving two CKD patients experiencing fatigue. ROM exercise were performed for three consecutive days with a duration of approximately 20 minutes per session. Evaluation was conducted using the Fatigue Assessment Scale (FAS) before and after the intervention. Fatigue scores in patient I decreased from 29 to 21, and in the patient II from 35 to 20. Both patients showed improvements in physical strength, motivation and reduced fatigue complaints. ROM exercise are effective in reducing fatigue among CKD patient undergoing hemodialysis. This intervention can be applied as an independent nursing strategy to enhance patient quality of life.
