Abstract

Leadership in the field of education plays a central role in determining the success of the teaching and learning process as well as the achievement of institutional goals. This paper discusses situational leadership as an adaptive and effective strategy for addressing various dynamics and challenges within the educational environment. Situational leadership emphasizes the importance of leadership style flexibility based on the readiness, competence, and commitment levels of individuals or groups being led. Referring to Hersey and Blanchard’s theory, this study highlights four primary leadership styles directing, coaching, supporting, and delegating and how their application in educational settings can enhance motivation, performance, and the quality of interaction between leaders and organizational members. This study concludes that leadership effectiveness is largely determined by the leader's ability to adjust their approach to fit the situation and characteristics of their followers.
