Abstract
Hasan Hanafi is a contemporary Muslim thinker who offers a revolutionary approach to Qur'anic interpretation through a socio-praxis perspective. By integrating Husserl's phenomenological hermeneutics, Marxist social analysis, and usul fiqh framework, Hanafi developed a three-stage interpretive method: historical, eidetic, and practical consciousness. This approach aims not only to contextualize textual understanding but also to extract universal values to address contemporary issues like economic inequality and political oppression. His major works, such as Min al-'Aqīdah ilā al-Thawrah and Al-Yasār al-Islāmī, demonstrate how the Qur'an can be read as a liberating text that inspires transformative social action. Although criticized for being overly instrumental and subjective, Hanafi's contribution lies in his ability to connect revelation with social reality, offering a new paradigm in Qur'anic studies that emphasizes praxis and emancipatory dimensions. This research highlights the relevance of Hanafi's thought in addressing modern Muslim challenges, particularly in developing Qur'anic interpretations that respond to humanitarian and social justice issues.
